The House Of Hax

September 15th,

The day arrived for us bloggers and we were able to go in and sample all of the wonders that the best jewelry designers of SL could give us. After all, opening day is September 16, 2011 and it goes all the way to September 25, 2011 so I wanted to make sure I had a chance to explore and shop before it was swamped with customers and shoppers! With 4 sims packed with more than 100 booths, It is sure to be an event of epic proportions!

I arrived into the low lag sim for admittance to the Fair. The first thing to greet me was the large ad board showing me the various sponsors and designers. Some dear friends and some fashion heroes but all I admired in some form or another. Organizer, Cara Ametza along with Angelica Leiner and Roseana Pera really outdid themselves and I knew I was in for a treat!

The next thing that beckoned me was this large glowing portal. It was something as if out of a dream. Was I here already? Was this all there was? As I clicked on the glowing, swirling mass I soon discovered that there was indeed more. Oh so much more.,,

AIR SIM

I arrived within this circle of portals and glow and at first it was as if I had tp'd elsewhere other than where I should be but as I stepped back and saw the colors, I moused over and saw that each were named for the Elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water! Since I was already on the Air sim, I decided to look about and what I found was extraordinary!



As I got my bearings, I was greeted with G&K Haute Couture Jewelry to my right and Primalot to my left. I had to flip a coin just to decide! I decided since that today was a free day that I was going to walk the circumference first, pick out pieces I like than go back around and make my purchases but I had to stop in at G&K first, it made me want to!



Oh Decisions, decisions! Do I turn left? Right? It was a maddening decision but I had to remind myself that I had all day and should pace myself so that is what i did..or intended to rather.



Next up was Je Suis where yours truly purchased maybe 1 or 4 things before moving on my journey. I was walking amongst the wonderful Grecian-Roman decor when I was hit with a surprise amidst all these wonderful gems and jewels-A Pose store! Yes there it was! ::HelaMiyo:: and oh they are delightful and fluid so make sure you stop in while you are here!






Earth Sim

So with my want list clutched in my hand, I headed to the Earth portal and soon I stepped out into a place with green rolling hills and Burtonesque trees and branches, I knew I was going to have a great time!



As you walk through, you feel as if you stumbled into a woodland community with shops and stops dotted within clearings and amid mushrooms and toadstools.



One store that grabbed me was AHC AlexanderHunter's Couture. You can find all sorts of great little items in this store. I found a necklace that would fit perfectly with a dress I have and that is really how this sim is. It encourages you to go peeking and looking for yourself.



For instance, nestled right near one of the many bridges, you can find Ashira's Aerie where there are tons of gems, jewels and all sorts of wonderful sets to enjoy!



Fire Sim

So with my wish list now growing by yards, I decided that my next step would have to be Fire (being a redhead and all) and there was lava everywhere and broken earth and darkness. It was almost like Hell would be if I imagined it and i didn’t know where to go or where to start but wait.



...What did I see? VIOLATOR! Okay I felt better after that! I decided that using my usual circumference walk may not be a good idea so I thought maybe just go with what I know.



As I stilled the drooling on my part, I moved on to the next stop and this here shows you just a sample of the gorgeous goods available right next door at Alaska Metro!



Now we have seen great jewelry and even a pose store or two but now this really grabbed me in this dark but swirling place of lava, flame and HOT shopping! Xoph and all the tools needed to create your own stunning pieces of jewelry magic!



I know these two points have nothing to do with the Fair itself but I had to share with you these two striking pieces I wandered across. First is this magnificent dragon centerpiece located across from Timeless Jewels and Diamond Dreams Designs.



and second, for those who enjoy sight seeing as much as I do and exploring a sim, there is also an observation platform that you can look out over the fiery mountains and rich molten lava river below! Watch your step and catch your breath! They are dotted all over so there is no reason why you cant relax and just chill while you decide which piece is next for you to pick up!



Now the journey begins again and as I walked amid the cracked earth and lava spews, I found one of my favorite stores when I want to go casual and that is Ganked. Great little pieces perfect for that casual to dressy occasion! Not only that, my dears, you have to play the Gatcha machines that are located all over each sim and if you want to be surprised and just go random then play and win something from any one of the many vendors that are participating in this years Fair.



The Red gachas are your normal every day gacha, they are stuffed with goodies and pieces that you will all adore! But the Blue gatchas are different, you get goodies AND they help with the JF's chosen charity, Oxfam, depending on the merchant they can donate 50 to 100% of the purchase price so get out there and shop!



Water Sim

Well after my trial by Fire I decided I needed to get cooled off and took the blue portal to the Water sim and already I was feeling so cool and refreshed and ready to start the last leg of my jewelry journey! As soon as I stepped out, the seem was simply gorgeous! Asian inspired with beautiful flowers and water throughout. It really does make one feel very much at peace and soothed. Not only that, there was Eclectica waiting for me!



I could tell that this was going to be an adventure in loveliness already and sure enough, as I turned the corner and made my way around the wooden bridges, I saw Eden Jewelry and what caught my eye were the duo of fish outside the door! You cant miss them!




Yep everything you could want can be found at Jewelry Fair 2011 and that was made more evident when I stopped over at Zibska and picked up their Sy Texture change Set. I had to have it and I could already see the outfits and pieces I would use!






Now I will admit that I am a sucker for an eye-grabbing logo or advertisement and somehow, LOGO must have been listening because that is where I ended up next! Just remember everyone that the vendors do have a charity vendor item and 50% of the item goes to Oxfam and more information can be found at www.oxfam.org!






So with a stop at one of my favorite shops, Crystal Line, I knew that I had to stop now or I would go broke!



But I couldn’t resist picking up the gorgeous Jewel chair and the amazing "Cherry " set!



Yes, angels, I did a lot of damage, saw so many wonderful things, second and third guessed myself almost into bankruptcy but it was well worth it. Every step and every moment was a journey not only into sims and more goodies but also into my own sense of style. Truly at the Jewelry Fair, I found that not only was I part of the Elements, I was also in my own! See you there and have fun!
